We had such a great time at Launceston Distillery! We were two flight attendants and two aviation geeks who missed our flight and walking over here turned out to be the best decision. The distillery is housed in the historic Hangar 17 at Launceston Airport, and the team has done an amazing job preserving its aviation heritage. Amongst the barrels, youโll find original Ansett seats, vintage bar carts, photos from Queen Elizabethโs visit, and more, itโs a dream for whisky and aviation lovers. The whisky tasting was fantastic, thorough, informative, and full of incredibly well-balanced whiskies (we tried six!). Whether youโre early for a flight or find yourself unexpectedly grounded like we did, this place is 100% worth the visit. You can walk there easily via the carpark and a grassy path! no need to take the road. Big thanks to the team! we loved it!Posted on Kimbal McMahonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Delightful experience with flavourful whiskey presented perfectly! What a gem. The history of the building lends itself wonderfully to the here and now. Itโs a short walk to or from the airport ( we just did it). Put Hanger 17 on you Launceston list of things to do.Posted on BoonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing & delicious whisky!
